The Union Club (1836) The Union Club is the oldest private club in New York City (but not the oldest in America). We loved the wild mushroom risotto, rack of lamb, and crème brûlée. Everything we tried was delectable and we would enthusiastically recommend each dish. We then had the wild mushroom risotto – which was listed as an appetizer, but was actually a meal on its own – followed by the scallops and the rack of lamb. We started with a delicious duck liver pate, which was served with crostini, cornichons, and red onions. In addition to the pizza, the menu features a unique assortment of appetizers, salads, and entrees, including tartine, croque madame, wild mushroom risotto, pan seared scallops, house-made pasta, and a classic rack of lamb. The restaurant even offers optional cauliflower crust for gluten-free or paleo diets! We started our dinner with the duck liver pate. From the classic margherita to specialty options like bechamel chicken, pesto shrimp, and prosciutto & arugula, Gaslight’s interpretation of this standard fare will make your mouth water. One of the highlights of Gaslight’s menu is its wood fired pizza. The patio also features a large TV so you don’t have to miss any big games. There is an outdoor patio with large umbrellas and a covered outdoor bar for enjoying a specialty cocktail, glass of wine, bourbon or craft beer while people-watching during busy summer nights in the Village. The atmosphere has a great vibe it’s stylish yet casual and relaxed. As you drive south through Lake George Village, just before you reach the Fort William Henry Resort, you’ll find the area’s newest restaurant, Gaslight of Lake George, nestled between DJ’s Nite Club and Howard Johnson by Wyndham Lake George.
